Re: Granbury Road Race Reviews
Hey, just wanted to thank you guys for a wonderful race at Granbury this past weekend. My daughter and I from Richardson Tx , ran the 5K and really enjoyed it! Well organized, a great course and so much fun. Oh and great T-shirt design as well. Hopefully we can run in the 4th annual (Granbury Road) race next year as well, maybe try the 10K!
Keep up the good work and take care,
Re: Granbury Freedom Run Reviews
Very well organized. Quite a beautiful run. The police secured all areas very well. Many volunteers assured runners were well taken care of. Plenty of good parking spots. Even the new Mayor showed up. Thanks to Nicole, Julie and many more active people behind the scene helped put this great event together. Very friendly runners and walkers took part. It was such a great success. "Movin-Pictures" took some great pictures and "cadence" and I believe it was "Run Timing" made sure we all were timed correctly. A very nice event, hope to be there next year. Hans
Re: Granbury Freedom Run Reviews
I had signed up for this run last year and was not able to go. I am so glad I made it this year. The event started on time and was well organized. I really liked the course, it was very well marked and patrolled. Most of it was in their beautiful park, and they have wonderful bike/hike/jog paths. They even put signs warning you where there would be water or mud on the path. This will go on my calendar for next year!
Re: Granbury Freedom Run Reviews
It was an awesome race. I can't find anything negative to say about it. Every detail was well taken care of. The race planners really knew what they were doing. There were plenty of policemen and volunteers that were very friendly and helpful. I will be back again and again.
Re: Granbury Freedom Run Reviews
I'm 56 years old and this was the first time I competed in ANY kind of race. Although I walked it, at least I did it! I've lived in Granbury for over 30 years nd am so amazed to see how the City has transformed the old park into a truly relaxing place. As others have said, the security was great, volunteers were helpful and the race coordinators were encouraging- even to me who finished dead last. To put on a race that can delight serious runners, casual runners and former couch potatoes like myself is quite a feat. Good job. I will definitely sign up next year. Who knows, I might even be able to run some!
Re: Granbury Freedom Run Reviews
1st ever event! Had a great time. Can't wait to come to Granbury for another.
Re: Blazin Saddle 75 Reviews Good
course.... nice scenery... elevation was fun... all in all well run
Re: Blazin Saddle 75 Reviews
Good ride. Well supported for a second year event. Challenging. Lots of rolling hills makes for a good work out. Prep for Hotter 'N Hell. Would be nice to add a tour of downtown like they do at Tour de Paris. It would also be a plus to try and get some of the route along the lake!!
Re: Blazin Saddle 75 Reviews
Enjoyed the course. Would have like it to be a little better marked / some of the intersections could have used someone there... Would have liked riding along the lake.
Re: Blazin Saddle 75 Reviews
I rode the 75 mile course. Excellent rally. Very technical and challenging course. More challenging than Goatneck, Muenster, and Beauty and the Beast. Beautiful scenery. Very good roads, mostly packed chip seal. Just a little bad chip seal. Well marked course. Excellent police support and ride marshals. Excellent rest stops with ice, water, gatorade, fruit, pickle juice, pretzels, cookies, pickles, and very sweet volunteers. Very well organized. I will be back. But, it needs to start at 7:00.
Re: Blazin Saddle 75 Reviews
Good ride overall. Loved the hills. I rode the 75 mile course and I think the course was better than last year. I would recommend starting at 7 am. I realize that is early but wow was it hot on the black chip seal. A tour of downtoun and a ride along the lake would be great but I loved the hills. The support staff was great and there was always plenty of drinks, snacks and encouragement.
Re: Blazin Saddle 75 Reviews
A very challenging ride, more so than The Goatneck. Good prep for my first H.H.H. The volunteers were excellent and the rest stops had plenty of water, gatorade, food and ice. Thanks to all the volunteers, Police and Ride officials. Excellent job. Roads and markings, for the most part, Ok. Needs to start at 7:00-7:30.
Re: Blazin Saddle 75 Reviews
Course was challenging and support was good - police support was great. SAG support was better this year. Arrows on road were helpful, signs indicating turns would also be helpful. We need a 7:00am start. Looking forward to riding again next year. Thanks to the YMCA for letting us use their facilities after the ride.
Re: Blazin Saddle 75 Reviews
Great Course! Beautiful Scenery! Great police support! Very Challenging, luckily the last few miles were down hill. Perfect spacing on rest stops, plenty of snacks and drinks to choose from. It saved me that they had sunscreen at the stops. I forgot to put some on earlier. I was hesitant to try the Taco Bell tacos they were giving away escpecially as warm as it was outside. My wife gave in and I had one of hers. It was actually really, really good. Thank you to all of the volunteers and coordinators. I would have liked it to be earlier, but I am sure there was some politics involved in that. I will do it again and again.
Re: Blazin Saddle 75 Reviews
Super Ride! Super Hott!!!! I vote for at least 0730 for 75 milers. More difficult than the Goatneck but both Beautiful countryside. Is there a site for pictures that were taken?
